A litigator handling a wide variety of matters in the Los Angeles area for over eighteen years, Rex T. Reeves joined MulcahyReeves in 2005. Previously, he had been a founding partner of O’Donnell Reeves & Shaeffer LLP in Los Angeles. His experience also includes working as a litigator at both Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and Kaye Scholer Fierman Hays & Handler in Los Angeles, where he was the director of the firm’s trial training program.

In addition to his experience in franchise and distribution law, Rex has also litigated numerous other business disputes involving various contract, tort, and unfair competition claims. He also has extensive experience in intellectual property litigation, including a number of high profile copyright matters involving major motion pictures and television programs. Rex also has handled a number of defamation and First Amendment claims. He has extensive experience in both federal and state court, as well as in handling matters before administrative agencies such as the California New Motor Vehicle Board.

Rex has successfully litigated hundreds of matters in a multitude of litigation contexts, including a number which have proceeded through jury trial, administrative hearing or arbitration, as well as many matters which have been resolved via ADR. Several of these matters have attracted national attention, resulting in appearances on 60 Minutes, the Today Show, Good Morning America, the CBS Early Show, and numerous other legal or public interest programs (including Crossfire and Burden of Proof on CNN and On Trial on CNBC).

A 1988 honors graduate of Harvard Law School, Rex earned his undergraduate degree in 1985 from Brown University, majoring in history and in economics. A member of Phi Beta Kappa, he graduated with highest honors and was the 1985 recipient of the Pell Gold Medal awarded by the university’s history department. Rex was admitted to the California State Bar in 1988.
